It is the month of love, so Nigerian Nollywood filmmakers have an excellent opportunity to impress us with new and romantic movies and series in 2025.

As we look forward to the films being released this February, we have compiled a list of movies and series coming out this month. The film industry has shown that these filmmakers consistently push the boundaries of creativity with each new production made available to the public.

In February, we are excited to highlight these upcoming movies and series, each of which has the potential to leave us amazed and showcase the talent within the Nollywood film industry.

  1. Summer Rain (February 7)

The movie, directed by Adenike Adebayo-Esho and written by Owumi Ugbeye, follows two friends on a decade-long journey to discover they are each other’s soulmates. “Summer Rain” features Kalu-Anaga Emmanuel, Kayode Jnr Ojuolape, Tina Mba, Genoveva Umeh, Michael O Ejoor, Daniel Etim-Effiong, and more.

  1. Love Lockdown (February 7)

The film tells the story of a young man about to be married but has his life turned upside down when COVID-19 hits the world. The film stars Andrew Bunting, Detola Jones, Yewande Osamien, Doris Okorie, and Obichi Marshall.

  1. Tarella: Princess of the Nile (February 7)

Tarella presents a fascinating African interpretation of the classic Cinderella tale in the magical kingdom of Akkaya, located in West Africa. The story revolves around Prince Nosa, the heir to the throne, and Tarella, a young girl without a family, navigating various obstacles in their quest for love and happiness. The film features performances by Timini Egbuson, Okawa Shaznay, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Chioma Idigo, Elvina Ibru, Ummi Baba-Ahmed, and Rebecca Nengi Hampson.

  1. Ori Ade Fadaka (February 7)

The movie explores a royal family on the verge of disorder. The story focuses on a sick king, portrayed by Jide Kosoko, who thinks his son is essential for his recovery, but everything is in disarray. “Ori Ade Fadaka” will star Jide Kosoko, Segun Arinze, Jaiye Kuti, Bimbo Akintola, Aramide Adesiya, and Taiwo Ibikunle.

  1. Reel Love (February 14)

“Reel Love” explores a love triangle, delving into themes of affection, customs, and unforeseen developments. Directed by the legendary Kayode Kasum and written by Ife Olujuyigbe, “Reel Love” tells the story features a star-studded cast that includes Timini Egbuson, Shaffy Bello, Funke Akindele, Bimbo Ademoye, Muyiwa Ademola, Jay on Air, Hermes Iyele, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Lilian Afegbai, TJ Omusuku, Efa Iwara, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson.

  1. 07.03 (February 14)

A couple who cannot conceive because of a curse must discover a way to lift the curse before it ruins their marriage. It will star Blossom Chukwujekwu, Uche Montana, Tina Mba, Mofe Duncan, and Jide JBlaze Oyegbile.

  1. Blackout (February 21)

Blackout will centre around powerful themes such as survival, possession, and obsession. The film will star Padita Agu and Gideon Okeke.

  1. A Country Called Ghana (February 28) 

“A Country Called Ghana” follows the story of Professor Kwadwo Nkansah, the only educated person in a rural Ghanaian community. He becomes entangled in an unexpected conflict when a group of foreigners, led by Ramsey Nouah, arrives to seize a valuable resource from the village for their nation.
