First time author, Adeoye Adekoya, launched his new book titled ‘brilliANTs’ last Sunday. Even before its public presentation, the book had been described as unusual, as it draws exceptional lessons from the most unlikely creatures.
The unveiling and reading took place at 822 Integrated Advertising in Ikeja and the guests’ expectations were not cut short. It was an evening of words, music and a lot of laughter. The relaxed atmosphere set by the MC, Laf’up, was sustained throughout the event by both the lively audience and those who held the mic.
Members of the audience included Mr Francis Adesina of 822 Integrated Advertising; Jimi Tewe, CEO Inspiro Consulting and author of ‘Free from Corporate Slavery’; Steve Harris, author of ‘From College Drop-out to Corporate Sellout’ (Bookvine, 2011); Tolu Ojo, CEO TelecGSM, Oluwole Olowu, Former Director of Finance, Lagos State; Mr and Mrs Adekoya, Wole Ogunsanya amongst others.
In his review of the book, Niyi Aderenle (Arts Editor, National Mirror) highlighted the strengths of the book; the concepts, manner and style of writing, depth of content etc and also the areas where he could have done better.
Adeoye, who describes the book as ‘a dream come true’, works 9-5 in the telecoms sector. He says he got the inspiration for the book from Proverbs in the Bible and an encounter under a tree with these seemingly insignificant but exceptional creatures – ANTS.
BrilliANTS, published by BOOKVINE, (an imprint of Vine Media Services) is an inspirational book which challenges the reader to take responsibility for the future. The book is garnished with interesting anecdotes and illustrations from the life of ants.
