The renewed clashes in Nasarawa State have resulted in the deaths of an additional 50 persons.
The fresh attack by the Ombatse cult group in Obi town, Obi Local Government Area of the state has led to the loss of many lives and the destruction of property.
According to reports, many houses have been set ablaze, while many residents, including women and children have fled their homes to take refuge in nearby villages. Many of them were seen trekking over 30 kilometres to Lafia, the state capital.
Meanwhile, tension is very high in Obi, Tudun Adabu, Daddere and other villages around the area and reports have it that soldiers in 11 vehicles had been deployed in Obi to maintain law and order.
