After 2 months of going back and forth, Senator Iyiola Omisore has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The former deputy governor of Osun state, Omisore had been declared wanted by the EFCC in May after he was linked to a payment of N700 million made from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) by former NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
Omisore had approached a Federal High Court to stop the EFCC from arresting him upon the agency’s declaration.
It seems however, that his law suit has done him no good as he was picked up by operatives of the EFCC in Abuja in the early hours of Sunday.
He is currently in EFCC custody and will face interrogation for his alleged role in the election funding fraud.
