Opinion: Dear General Buhari, these are 3 questions for you

by Isah Liman

Would you say the emergency rule in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states have been effective? If no, what will you rather do if elected as the president of this country?

Dear GMB,

Sir, as one of your admirers and a strong believer in your political philosophy, I will like to specially congratulate you on your well deserved victory at the APC presidential primaries for the 2015 general elections.

We, your ardent supporters strongly believed that any other presidential candidate filed by the All Progressives Congress aside you, would mean giving a straight victory to the PDP.

Sir, your recent interview on Channels Television on the 7th of December, 2014 aroused my curiosity and prompted me to write this open letter to you. In an answer to a question, you were quoted to have said that

”You would stabilize the price of crude oil”.

Indeed, this is a very smart answer to the question. But, in as much as we know that you gave the right answer to that question, some of us (your supporters) flinch inwardly when you made that statement.

In line with this, I decided to ask you three tailored questions through the media because I do not have an alternative way of reaching you.

Without further ado, below are my three questions:

(1) How do you plan to grow the Nigerian economy and reduce unemployment?

(2) As the President of Nigeria, you will have no control over the price of crude oil, so how do you plan to stabilize it?

(3) Would you say the emergency rule in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states have been effective? If no, what will you rather do if elected as the president of this country?

Thank you.

  1. Indeed, Buhari is not a “clueless” President-in waiting. You can be sure he will stabilize oil price. He wrote that in his WASC which certificate is in the custody of the Army Board.

  2. The answer to all these questions is simple…..just stop corruption! !!! Think deep and u will see d light!!

  3. Nigerians must be fools to believe that the country by itself can stabilise price of crude oil when we know that major producers like Russia, US, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Countries are there. Nigeria had never and can not by itself stabilise prices. What we should be talking about is prudent use of the much we can get.

  4. In my own opionion, I really believe that those questions should be taking serious, because those are the depth of problems experiencing in Nigerian governance, and also education should not be ignore.
