Paul Apel’s “Fantastic Numbers” gets premiere date

Fantastic Numbers

Reportedly, Paul Apel’s soon-to-be released movie Fantastic Numbers sits on a budget of N35m, which, no offense, isn’t that fantastic. I’m not sure why this detail about the film is in focus though. Starring Sambasa Nzeribe, Yakubu Mohammed, Funny Mallam, Sani Danja, Ivie Okujaye, and MTV Shuga Naija actress Rahama Sadau, Fantastic Numbers tells the story of twins and triplets who were separated from birth.

Per the plot synopsis, the twins bump into each other in a seemingly dramatic circumstance and become sworn enemies instead of brothers that they are. Similarly, the triplets who were thrown away by their biological mother have separate lives until fate brings them together at a time they need one another the most.

Produced by Uzee Usman and executive produced by Yakubu Mohammed, Fantastic Numbers extends itself as a meta-commentary on the many incidents of children thrown away by their parents because they appear to be a burden or have some questionable circumstances surrounding their birth.

“However, there are relationships that go wrong,” Yakubu Mohammed said in a statement to Pulse, “we see women suffer in their relationship because the man in their lives is the only hope for survival and so they keep quiet and swallow their bitter pill.”

Paul Apel’s last project was 2017’s The Little Devil, and his other works include Pappu and The Grave Dust. Fantastic Numbers is billed to premiere in cinemas June 29.
