The Ariaria police station in Aba, Abia state, has been burnt down, TheCable reports.

The station was said to have been attacked on Thursday morning; cause yet unknown.

The attack on the police station is coming a day after members of the group were said to have killed a police sergeant in Rivers state.

Security operatives were seen arriving at the area command headquarters shortly after the incident – and the residents are in panic.

Security has also been beefed up in the area and some parts of the road have been cordoned off, according to the residents.
