Fuel scarcity: PPMC moves to end petrol station queues

The Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, which has been accused of incompetence and corruption, has revealed that measures are already in place to end the prevalent fuel scarcity in the country.

The PPMC said on Friday night, that it would be dispatching 31 trucks each with 60,000 litres of fuel to Abuja with another 25 expected on Saturday.

Managing Director, Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, was quoted in the statement, to have said that PPMC was working with the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to end the scarcity.

“This is made possible by reason of the partnership between NNPC Retail and Capital Oil and Gas. In addition, 150 trucks have been provided by A. A. Rano, Azman, and Rahamaniyya.”

“It is believed that with these measures, normalcy will return to Abuja and its environs in no time,” the statement added.

“Motorists are therefore advised for the umpteenth time not to engage in panic buying as this will encourage the activities of hoarders. They are also advised to be vigilant and to report any observed sharp practices and other identified areas of need.”

PPMC says it has also made an extra effort to curb the effect of the fuel crisis on the general public by deploying staff to petrol stations across Abuja for round-the-clock monitoring.

The PPMC also stated that these interventionary efforts would persist until the fuel queues disappear.
