Prof. Moghalu, Tijani Yusuf, Aisha Yesufu, DJ Switch, Tacha, others to speak at the 2021 Nigeria Symposium for Young and Emerging Leaders

The Future Project Africa, in partnership with Rubbin’ Minds, is set to host the 6th edition of the Nigeria Symposium for Young & Emerging Leaders on Sunday, July 25th, 2021

Themed ‘A State of Flux: Where do we go from here?‘, the Symposium would be hosted by popular media personality, and Rubbin’ Minds talk show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and will be televised at 3 PM on Channels TV Ch. 420 (DSTV), Ch. 48 (GOTV) and Sky 575 (UK). 

Speaking on the purpose of the Symposium, Senior Advisor at The Future Project, Bukonla Adebakin, said, “This year, our objective is to dive deeper into probable strategies and solutions on inclusion, technology, economic development, citizens’ activism, and the surge of insecurity In Nigeria.”

“Nigerians are plagued with varying levels of challenges ranging from severe poverty, increasing insecurity, a high rate of unemployment amongst others. We strongly believe that a national discourse that incorporates all the demographic stratas will help to proffer practical and implementable solutions,” she concluded. 

The Nigeria Symposium for Young and Emerging Leaders is an annual channel of interaction between high-level public office holders and the citizens to evaluate the impact of policies on citizens while affording these citizens an avenue to ask critical questions and get corresponding answers.

Amongst the top government officials and emerging leaders confirmed to speak at the symposium are; Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank and former presidential aspirant, Professor Kingsley Moghalu; Federal Lawmaker representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf; State coordinator, #NotTooYoungToRun, Godbless Otobure; renowned socio-political activists, Aisha Yesufu, Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni), Rinu Oduala and Obianuju Catherine Udeh (DJ Switch); former BBNaija housemate, Tacha Akide; Tech lawyer and Policy Consultant, Timi Olagunju, among others. 

The discourse has previously played host to top government functionaries like the Director-General, World Trade Organization, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala; Federal Minister of State for Health, Dr Adeleke Mamora; Executive Governor of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi; Former Governor of Anambra, Peter Obi and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.

With a view to change the narrative of leadership and citizenship across Africa, The Future Project Africa has executed various youth-centred projects, including YMonitor, the Freedom of Information campaign and the Local Government Performance Report
