Six people have died with one more in critical condition after a road accident at Iyana Iyesi, Sango, Ado-Odo / Ota Local Government of Ogun State yesterday, February 5.

According to reports, two children were killed in the crash after a vehicle lost control and ran into commercial motorcycle riders and commuters at Iyana Iyesi.

Ota Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Adedeji Adewale, said the accident was due to recklessness from the truck driver, the victims included commercial motorcyclists and passengers waiting for buses.

“He (driver) lost control and rammed into cyclists and passengers waiting for vehicle at Iyana Iyesi, four children and two adults died on the spot while one person is currently receiving treatment.

“We have deposited the six corpses at Ota General Hospital and the injured person is also taking treatment at the same hospital,” Adewale said.

News released confirmed that the FRSC unit commander said the remains of the unmarked vehicle had been cleared off the road and officials were helping traffic move easily.

Adewale confirmed that the victim in critically condition was receiving treatment at the Ota General Hospital.
