Richmond Amechi Tells A Dark and Psychological Story With Upcoming Film “Moji”

Nigerian filmmaker Richmond Amechi directs this dark thriller, “Moji,” which will be available on a streaming platform in the coming weeks.

The movie, “Moji”, is praised as a psychological feature film with two parts that explore the darkest parts of human psychology.

Shot in Ibadan in 2024, “Moji” will have two parts, one of which will tell the story of a family in danger and the other will be focused on solving a ghastly crime.

Directed by Richmond Amechi, and produced by Temitope Subair and Fulfillment Fuchi Nwaturuocha, the film stars Shawn Faqua, Kiki Omeli, Tina Mba, Temitope Olowoniyan, Chuks Joseph, and Darasimi Nadi.

“Moji” delves into themes of human psychology, trauma, reincarnation, and marital issues, presenting them uniquely and unconventionally, setting them apart from typical narratives. By exploring these themes, the film raises important questions about the nature of reality and the human condition.

“When I first read the script, I felt connected with the story’s uniqueness—a break from the norm. Thrillers are my favourite, especially crime thrillers with an experimental touch. It is one of those films where each of the puzzle pieces has to fit in perfectly to get a decent delivery out of it, and I am happy with what I and the team have done,” Richmond Amechi said.
