Rivers governor Wike sacks all commissioners

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has sacked all his commissioners.

His special assistant on electronic media, Simeon Nwakaudu announced this in a statement issued on Saturday.

The governor directed all former commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their ministries.

This comes a day after the commissioner for Information and Communication, Austin Tam-George resigned.

His resignation came 24 hours after Harrison Iheanyichukwu, the state commissioner for works, was sacked.

“I wish to resign my appointment as commissioner for information and communication with effect from today, June 23, 2017,” his resignation letter read.

“I have handed over officially to the director of administration in the ministry.”
