A teenage girl in Pakistan has died after she set herself ablaze in front of a police station in protest.
18-year-old Aamna Bibi had reported a rapist to the police but he was freed by investigating officer, Zulfiqar Ahmed who had allegedly received a bribe of 70,000 rupees (£690).
The teenager expressed her despair by setting herself on fire in front of the police station in the Muzaffargarh district of the Punjab province.
Aamna was taken to hospital with severe burns to 80% of her body but she succumbed to her injuries and died the next day.
Reports have it that the police did nothing to stop the girl’s self-immolation.
