Nigerian filmmaker Samuel Alawode has United three West-African countries, Nigeria, Ghana and Benin, in cinema with his debut movie “Accroché”.
The movie is a collaboration that cuts across the three countries and will debut at the Abuja International Film Festival on October 29.
“Accroché” was filmed in Badagry (Lagos, Nigeria), Cotonou (Benin Republic), Ghana, and the University of Ibadan (Nigeria), spanning five weeks and featuring English, Fon, French, and Yoruba languages.
The movie will follow the life of Senami Sejro, a young man from a small fishing community in the Benin Republic. He starts his youthful adventures by attending the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he faces many obstacles like love and drugs on his way.
Directed by Samuel Alawode, the film will star brothers Cestus Sallah and Roger Sallah, Idayat Ibrahim, Funsho Adeolu, Ruby Akubueze, Chimezie Imo, Akin Lewis, Tope Tedela, Tina Mba, and more.
