Save Nigeria Group Responds To FG’s Move To Deter Protests With Military

Following the NLC’s decision to cancel street protests and the sudden deployment of heavy military presence all over Lagos, one of the more prominent civil society groups at the fore-front of the Occupy Nigeria Movement, the Pastor Tunde Bakare led Save Nigeria Group has urged protesters to temporarily take refuge in their homes till appropriate counter-measures to these developments can be formulated. In a tweet

According to the message issued from their Twitter account –
We urge you all to REMAIN AT HOME and out of harm’s way today. Counter moves will be communicated to all as soon as possible
The group has also said they will be issuing an official statement on the Federal Government’s N97 proposition,  and what it calls “the invasion of Ojota” by the military.

Pastor Tunde Bakare had earlier stated last Friday at the venue of the Lagos protests that they would continue public demonstrations if Government refused to revert to N65, and with or without the continued participation of the NLC.
