‘I insist that Obasanjo’s administration should be probed’ – APC Senator

Senator Joseph Waku, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the administration of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Waku also urged the Federal Government to adopt a ranching system instead of creating grazing routes for herdsmen.

On the issue of herdsmen, Waku said, “It is better for this country to make a law that ranching be legalise. I support Benue government on this and nothing more. Grazing route or reserve is no longer fashionable because the land has been overwhelmed with population.”

“Again, the kind of weapons being carry about by herdsmen are highly sophisticated and not trusted. I think Government should come out and issue a statement that any herdsmen caught with weapons be arrested and prosecuted. If you go to Brazil and Argentina you will not see cows roaming about and their cows are better.”

Waku praised Buhari for the steps he has taken in his one year in office to fight corruption but believes the efforts should have started with Obasanjo’s administration.

“All these corruption and privatisation sagas we are talking about today started from Obasanjo’s administration. I insist that Obasanjo administration be probed. Buhari should revoke all the FG assets that were privatised under President Obasanjo.”

He however, said, “On the whole, I think this government is trying to sanitise the system for the younger generation and it is doing it gradually but well.”
