Something New: Miami Music by Shorty Ace

by ‘Ifreke Inyang

‘Miami Music’ is a brand new song by Shorty Ace. It was produced by DJ Peewee from Zambia and mixed by Gee Reign, a Nigerian. The track acts as a follow-up to his debut single titled ‘My nickname is Bembs’. In this track, he shows off  his brilliant lyrical prowess, wordplay and remarkable finesse.

In the song, Shorty Ace takes us on a mind trip to Miami, a city in the US known for its beautiful women and beaches and then to the Lekki beach. These places are popular for their water side and the crowd it brings, and the song describes it as where you go to unwind after work.

Shorty Ace got influenced early in life by his elder brother, Chilly, who would bring home CDs of Ice cube, Dre, Easy E, Daz Efx and the likes and he would spend most of his time reciting rhymes from Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G, Junior and Pretty, Mase and so on.

In 1998, he formed a rap group called Bad Bonez (Blessed and Designated Breed of Niggaz, Ever Zealous) along wit Big Khaleef and Chedda.  Ace is a graduate of Computer Information Systems and currently works as a Network Engineer in a bank.
