Stephen John, a 19-year-old man was on Tuesday remanded in prison by a Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N31,000 offering from a Catholic Church.
The prosecutor, Inspector Nurudeen Thomas, had told the court that the suspect and two others still at large committed the crime on November 16.
Thomas said the suspects broke into a Catholic Church at Elegbata, Apongbon area of the state around 11pm and stole N31,000.
“He was caught by a security guard, while the others escaped,’’ he said.
After pleading guilty to a three-count charge of conspiracy, breaking, entry and stealing, the Magistrate, Mrs. F.O. Ikobayo ordered that John be remanded in Ikoyi prison and adjourned the case to December 2.
