Books are still cool! Wole Soyinka, Funmi Iyanda, Ibikunle Amosun, Ade Bantu, others make it rock for #AkeFestival (PHOTOS)

The Ake Arts and Book Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State from November 19 to 24 2013. This year’s edition was themed “The Shadow of Memory.”

It was a time for book readings and sales, performance art, drama, art exhibitions and basically everything connected to books and art.

The event was attended by renowned author and Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and ace broadcaster Funmi Iyanda among others.

The ‘Ake Festival’ is an initiative of the Book Buzz Foundation, a non-governmental organization whose main aim is promoting literacy through the creation of reading programmes.
