TRACE Urban is making good it’s promise of promoting African music as it premieres two new exclusive videos from two leading mainstream music acts. The urban music channel which launched its TRACE Urban Anglophone Africa portal in Nigeria only few weeks ago, has gotten exclusive rights to new videos by multiple award winning Nigerian singer, 2face Idibia and Ghanaian act, D’Black.
“We are excited to have this inflow of exclusive videos,” said Sam Onyemelukwe, the Head of TRACE Urban Anglophone W. Africa. “It is what TRACE exists for; to give our viewers the coolest, newest and best music content around. The fact that Africa’s biggest artists are interested in working closely with us is proof of the popularity of our brand and channel.”

The statement, issued by TRACE Urban, Nigeria’s foremost rapper, MI is also set to premiere a yet to be named video exclusively on the channel.
With a focus on Hip-Hop and R&B music videos featuring international urban hits, TRACE Urban combines top urban music videos, exclusive interviews of urban celebrities and original features related to urban culture including music, fashion, dance, sport, lifestyle, cinemas.
“Urban culture is our focus and it’s what we’ve always been about,” said Onyemelukwe. “Because urban culture has become dominant amongst young people across the world, and even more so in Nigeria over the past few years, it clearly has earned its own television network. TRACE Urban Anglophone Africa follows in that tradition – focus on urban music and urban culture especially for that 15 – 38, and older, demographic of Hip-hop and R&B fans.”
The music channel is also available on terrestrial channels, NTA and Galaxy.
