Home of Tompolo’s father invaded by soldiers

Operatives of the Joint Task Force have reportedly invaded the home of the father of wanted ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo popularly known as Tompolo.

Punch Newspapers reports that the incident took place in Kurutie, Warri South West local government area of Delta State in the wee hours of Monday, May 30.

Briefcases containing monies and vital documents were said to have been taken away by the soldiers.

The soldiers subsequently moved to other communities to look for members of militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.

Spokesperson of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, reportedly confirmed the development.

A leader of Kokodiagbene community, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, was quoted to have decried the situation, saying, “Their continuous visits are posing serious threats to the communities. We are living in bondage. Gbaramatu kingdom is hosts to oil and gas facilities and not to avengers.”

“It is annoying to observe that within every 5 to 10 kilometer radius, there are security houseboats and gunboats, yet illegal bunkering and vandalism are going on unabated. Who are they fooling?”

Tompolo’s father is believed to have been absent when the soldiers raided his home.
