WATCH: Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams sings Nigerian anthem, decked in green-white-green

At The Experience last weekend, December 7, former Destiny’s Child member, Michelle Williams lifted the spirits of Nigerians as she sang the National Anthem wearing traditional Iro and buba in the Nigerian National colours, green and white.

Williams now a successful gospel artist was among several other international artists invited to take part in this year’s gospel concert. Other international gospel stars included; The Soweto Spiritual Singers, Deitrick Haddon, Don Moen, Chevelle Franklyn, Micah Stampley, Israel Houghton and Fred Hammond.

Wale Adenuga, Sammie Okposo, Mike Aremu, Timi Dakolo also performed while President Goodluck Jonathan in a live delivery urged Nigerians to offer more prayers to God to make Nigeria a better and greater nation.

“It is indeed a privilege and a joy to bring greetings to you on this marvelous Experience evening. There is no denying the fact that the year 2012 has been a challenging one for us all. Yet it is a testament to the indomitable spirit that characterises Nigeria and Nigerians that across the length and breadth of the nation, we still gather in our communities to thank God for his many mercies upon us,” he said.
