Martins, Mercedes Evicted From BBN Season 11, Nomy Receives One Strike

Big Brother Naija Season 11 had its first eviction over the weekend, and Martins and Mercedes were the first contestants evicted from the Big Brother house. The two contestants were asked to leave the show after pulling in the lowest votes from the eviction votes for the week, after each contestant was tasked with saving three contestants.
Nomy was also on the verge of being disqualified over the weekend after disobeying Biggie, and instead received a strike, becoming the first contestant of the season to receive a strike. She received the strike just moments before the start of the eviction show.
2Baba Reportedly Ends Second Marriage Amidst Abuse Allegations

Legendary Afrobeat Star, 2Baba is reportedly in the process of a divorce from his second wife, Natasha Osawuru. The duo who got married after the end of his marriage with Annie Idibia have reportedly been having marital issues, and were living separately due to Natasha allegedly abusing the singer. Although the two seemed to have gone their separate ways in the past month, she allegedly tried to kidnap the singer over the weekend at an event in Abuja.
2Baba is yet to confirm any of the speculations concerning his marital situation but unfollowed his wife on Instagram hours after the attempted kidnapping.
Spider-Man Brand New Day Continues Box Office Run

Spider-Man Brand New Day is taking over the records at the box office as it becomes the third film in history to record over $145 million on its second weekend in cinemas, trailing behind 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” with $149 million and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” with $147 million. Since its release in cinemas, and after opening with a record-breaking $355 million domestically and a heroic $932 million globally, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has now generated a staggering $655 million in North America and $1.67 billion globally. The film is reportedly tracking for an over $2.5 billion record by the end of its cinema run.
Global Girl Group Katseye Down To Four Members

Katseye is now down to four members after group leader, Sophia Laforteza announced a hiatus to cater for her mental health. The Grammy-nominated group started the year as a 6-member group and announced the hiatus of one of its members, Manon Bannerman in February, and the departure of Sophia comes less than six months after. Katseye, known for their global hits Gnarly, Pinky Up and Gabriela, will continue as a 4-member group as they have a tour coming soon.
Nigerians Flood Peter Okoye’s Brand With Orders Amidst P-Square Drama

Afrobeat legend, Peter Okoye has received massive support from Nigerians amidst his exposé on the broken professional relationship between him, his twin brother and the other half of P-Square, Paul Okoye and their older brother, Jude Okoye, who was a manager for the duo before their split. In a show of support for the singer after he detailed the alleged mistreatment he faced while in the group, Nigerians flooded his brand “Zipp Republic,” with over 3000 orders.
