Big Brother Naija housemates NDI NNE evicted from the show
NDI NNE, the duo consisting of aunt and niece, have been eliminated from the Big Brother Naija season 9 reality TV show after snagging the Head of House (HoH) position before leaving the show.
The duo, Chinne and Nne, were evicted from the “No Loose Guard” edition in the second live eviction show as they had no immunity despite being Heads of House.
The reigning custodians, Mayor Frosh and Toby Forge (the Streeze duo), were offered the power to nominate one duo for eviction as they saved the other nominated duos (Radicals, Flourish and Zinwe).
Unfortunately, the NDI NNE duo got the short end of the stick and were asked to evacuate the show’s premises, now leaving the show with 24 housemates (12 pairs) to compete for the grand prize.
Burna Boy speaks out against Miss SA’s beauty pageant winner
After a week of bullying Chidinma Adetshina, a contender for the South African beauty pageant, South Africans crowned Miss Mia Le Roux as the winner of the show, leaving Nigerians, including Burna Boy, to laugh at the hypocrisy and xenophobic acts of South Africans.
When news of Chidinma Adetshina becoming a contestant for the competition spread on the internet, Nigerians called out South Africans for their xenophobia since Chidinma was born in South Africa despite her father being a Nigerian.
Burna Boy laughed out at the announcement that the winner of the South Africa beauty pageant was Mia Le Roux, a South African-born white-skinned lady with European heritage, when South Africans claimed Chidinma did not represent them for simply being of Nigerian heritage.
Asake reveals why he sings in Yoruba
Nigerian singer Asake took to Instagram to engage with his fans in a live Instagram session. There, his fans asked why the artist preferred to sing in Yoruba rather than English, as his fans were spread out beyond just the Yoruba tribe.
The artist then explained why he always sang in Yoruba, saying that it made him more comfortable to sing in the Yoruba language.
“The thing is, I am more comfortable singing my songs in Yoruba. Not that I can not still sing it in English. There are some parts in which I use English, but I think I am more comfortable with Yoruba,” the Grammy-nominated singer said.
Peter Okoye pens letter to brother, Paul, over allegations in interviews
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, a part of the duo band P-Square, penned a public letter to his twin brother, Paul Okoye, addressing the latter’s allegations against him (Peter).
Peter took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to address the issue, clarifying the rumours his brother has spread around in interviews, claiming that he (Paul) wrote 99% of the songs with his brother, not acknowledging the many songs written by Peter.
“Every time I have spoken in interviews about P-SQUARE, I have always used “we” and “us” because I saw us as a team. But whenever you speak, it’s always “I” and “me,” even when I’m standing right beside you. It’s as if I never existed,” Peter wrote.
