Broda Shaggi speaks up months after reported shooting on film set
Comic actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has spoken publicly for the first time in months after he was reportedly shot while filming in Ogun State.
The skit maker was allegedly shot in the leg while filming near the Sango Ota bridge in March. He was initially taken to a hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, before reportedly being transferred to another facility in Ikeja.
In an emotional message shared on his WhatsApp channel, Shaggi thanked fans for their patience, loyalty and support during his absence. He admitted that he had been unable to connect with them as he wanted but said their continued support gave him strength during a difficult period. He also promised to tell his story soon and hinted at his return.

Katseye’s Sophia Laforteza takes a hiatus to focus on mental health
Sophia Laforteza, a member of pop group Katseye, has announced that she will temporarily step away from performing to focus on her mental health. The announcement came a day before the group was scheduled to headline the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
In an Instagram Story, Laforteza said the decision was difficult because she loves performing and connecting with fans. However, she explained that she has realised the importance of taking care of her mental and physical health so she can continue doing what she loves in the future.
The singer thanked fans, known as “eyekons,” for their patience, understanding, and continued support. Katseye also confirmed in a statement on Instagram that Laforteza would be temporarily unable to participate in upcoming promotional activities.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has apologised to fans following controversy surrounding the group’s upcoming 10th anniversary celebrations. The group marks 10 years since its debut on August 8, but fans have expressed disappointment over the lack of activities planned for the milestone.
The situation worsened after YG Entertainment initially announced that only three members would attend the anniversary fan event before reversing the decision and confirming that all four members would be present. Dispatch later reported that the agency had rushed to organise the event following backlash from fans.
Amid the controversy, Jisoo shared a heartfelt letter on Weverse apologising to fans who felt disappointed. She expressed gratitude for their support and contribution to BLACKPINK’s success, assuring them that she remains deeply thankful for everything they have done for the group.
Davido hits back at Edo Governor after Osun rally comment
Afrobeats star Davido has responded to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo after he mocked his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, during an APC campaign rally ahead of the state’s August 15 governorship election.
Davido reacted by sharing what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram story without adding a caption. The post was widely seen as a response to the Edo governor’s remarks about Adeleke’s leadership and his well-known love for dancing.
At the rally, Okpebholo criticised Adeleke’s leadership style and urged Osun voters to support the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
