Jay-Z accuser withdraws rape allegation, says claims were false
A woman who accused Jay-Z of raping her at 13 has withdrawn her allegation, saying there was “no truth” to her claims. She had alleged that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs drugged and raped her after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Both men denied the accusations.
In a declaration filed in Manhattan federal court, the woman said she had never met or spoken to Jay-Z and that he never behaved inappropriately towards her. She also said she received no money for withdrawing the claims.
Jay-Z had sued the woman and her former lawyers over the allegations. His case against her has now been dropped, while proceedings against her former lawyers continue.
Yetunde Wunmi reflects on drug arrest 20 years later
Two decades after her arrest, Nigerian actress Taiwo Akinwande, popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi, has opened up about her drug-related ordeal. She was arrested by the NDLEA at Lagos airport in September 2006 while travelling to Europe and later sentenced to two years in prison.
Speaking on Feel Right TV, Akinwande recalled questioning how she ended up in the situation. She said she had dreamt about the incident twice and once had a gift of foresight.
The actress said she now believes the experience may have protected her from a greater tragedy. She thanked God and those who supported her, vowing never to repeat the offence.
Sabinus speaks out on growing ‘agbero pandemic’ in Lagos
Nigerian comedian and content creator Emmanuel Ijekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has criticised the growing activities of agberos in Lagos. Sharing a video from Onikan Stadium, he said that speaking about the issue could attract online attacks.
Sabinus expressed disappointment that grown men and breadwinners were involved in what he described as embarrassing behaviour. “Just look at grown men and people’s breadwinners making a mess of themselves,” he wrote.
His comments come amid renewed debate over begging in Lagos after a video showed young men chasing Burna Boy’s Bugatti at a club. Comedians I Go Save and Sarah Martins have also previously raised concerns about the trend.
RMD lands guest appearance role in Netflix’s ‘A Different World’
Nollywood star Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has joined Netflix’s ‘A Different World’ revival. The 10-episode series premiered on September 24 and follows students at the fictional Hillman College.
RMD plays Chukwu in one episode, appearing alongside returning stars Jasmine Guy, Kadeem Hardison, and Cree Summer. The new cast includes Maleah Joi Moon, who plays the daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert.
The original NBC series ran from 1987 to 1993. RMD’s latest role adds to his international credits, with the actor also appearing in the upcoming Children of Blood and Bone, alongside Viola Davis, Idris Elba, and Cynthia Erivo.
Taylor Swift sets new Spotify streaming record with ‘Patient Zero’
Taylor Swift has broken Spotify records, becoming the platform’s most-streamed female artist in a single day in 2026. Her achievement followed the release of four bonus tracks from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.
“Patient Zero”, the project’s focus track, also became Spotify’s most-streamed song by a female artist in one day this year. The extended release also features “Babylon”, “Pink Clouding” and “Cleveland!”
Swift’s latest milestone comes ahead of the September 27 MTV Video Music Awards, where she is set to premiere the cinematic video for “Patient Zero”. She directed the visual, starring Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson, and will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honours.
