If you have been following updates on Ifan Ifeanyi Michael’s upcoming movie Foreigner’s God, you must know by now that the movie has robust star power.
It’s the most star-studded Nollywood flick we have seen in recent years, dethroning The Wedding Party and Alakada Reloaded, two movies known for their bloated ensemble and released in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
As it is, Foreigner’s God has a gluttonous affinity for stars, and I’m not sure if this is good or bad. Just after the end of reality competition Big Brother Naija, alumni and couple BamBam and Teddy A were recruited into the movie’s burgeoning cast list, and thus maximising their fresh fame.
Yesterday, WOW magazine released their July/August edition with YouTube vlogger, media personality and author Toke Makinwa and Ifan Ifeanyi Michael as cover stars.
Both speaking on Foreigner’s God, their feature also served as a tool to announce Makinwa’s involvement in the project, in which she will play Ngozi aka GoGo, a rape victim.

“When I was informed of the role by the producer,” Makinwa said in the interview, “I went through a series of emotions: fear, doubt, compassion.
“Rape is a huge issue millions of women out there women suffer in silence and being able to stand with victims of rape with my voice is an opportunity I wouldn’t miss in a lifetime.”
And on executive producer Ifan Ifeanyi Michael: “He is so talented. Ifan is definitely one to watch out for. He has an idea in his head, you may not see it immediately but once you trust his creative genius, you look at what he has created and have nothing but deep admiration and respect for his vision.”
Makinwa joins other cast members like Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, Ini Dima-Okojie, Sharon Ooja, Sam Dede, Linda Osifo, Annie Idibia, Toyin Abrah, Lala Akindoju, and Kunle Idowu.
Foreigner’s God is Makinwa’s Nollywood debut, following her recent appearance in the Wole Soyinka stage play The Lion and the Jewel and a cameo in the Jenifa spinoff Jenifa Diaries.
I’d like to see the trailer for Foreigner’s God, to know if its star power can be justified. No release date has been announced but we’ll bring you updates if anything arises.
