The  9th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards was held last night and amidst all the glitz and glamour, films from Nigeria made a very strong impression. The Nigerian film ‘Confusion na wa’ emerged champion, winning the prize for best film while ‘the Niji Akanni directed ‘Heroes and zeroes’ won best screenplay and Best Director.

The late Justus Esiri was awarded the post-humous trophy for Best Actor in a leading role while Gabriel Afolayan received the Supporting Actor nod.
