It is believed that Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki,is nearly-ready to sacrifice his already-appointed principal officers and submit to the position of All Progressives Congress.
After Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara had emerged Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, against the wishes of the APC, the party had given them a second chance to do right by sending its list of principal officers.
But while Dogara adhered with the list, Saraki went with his candidates, defying the ruling party for the second time.
Vanguard reports that a verbal agreement was reached for the sake of peace; that Saraki would revert to the list of the party on the appointment of principal officers.
The leadership of APC in the Senate were said to have held a marathon meeting at the new wing of the Senate complex with Dogara, on Tuesday.
During the sit-down, a consensus was arrived at; that the current principal officers of the National Assembly would bow out for those appointed by the party.
Saraki is now expected to relay the development to his appointed principal officers- Senate Leader, Ali Ndume; his Deputy, Bala Ibn Na’allah, and Deputy Majority Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhena.
