December 1st is just around the corner, and Nigerians are pleading with President to have a change of heart about the new Nigerian Communication Commission directive to increase data prices. Dec 1st is the date when the directive from NCC comes into force.
That directive stipulates that 1.5 gig will sell for 3,000 naira.
Nigerians are embattled; the forces of recession and adverse economic policies are making a play for their souls. And while data is still affordable, they are tweeting about it.
Expect many social media savvy folks to drop off the face of the earth in the wake of the new rules. Expect social media to be less engaging. Expect tech startups to experience setbacks.
Do see below:
My President @MBuhari – you will kill future @andela if you don't stop the NCC from going through with this data price increase.

We need to give these recent policies from the CBN, NCC, FIRS etc by their proper names. Extortion. Extraction. Expropriation. Exploitation.

They extort, extract, expropriate & exploit, to spend. Buhari's admin has spent more money than any other admin in Nig's history @MrNosegbe pic.twitter.com/oX0vSYuGwO
