Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has announced his intention to launch a Foundation.
It was reported a few days ago, that Jonathan sent a letter to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, seeking his support on the Foundation.
Here are 4 things you should know about the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation.
1. The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation- which will focus on global development, security, peace, among other global issues- is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2016.
2. Former President Jonathan did not send a letter of support to Olusegun Obasanjo, exclusively. The same letter was written to President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, as well as all former heads of State- General Abdulsalami Abubakar, General Ibrahim Babangida, General Yakubu Gowon, Alhaji Shehu Shagari and Ernest Shonekan.
3. Apart from Nigerian leaders, Jonathan’s letter was also sent to all serving African leaders, key world leaders, diplomatic missions in Nigeria, international agencies and multinationals.
4. Acknowledgements of receipt are already being received from those that have gotten their letters, while some letters are still in the process of being sent out.
