Singer, Eniola Akinbo also known as Niyola is no stranger in the Nigerian music scene.
Springing up in 2000 when she became runner up in the Amen Starlet Competition, the R’n’B act kicked off her professional career 5 years later, honing her talents with Eldee‘s Trybe records and rapper, Freestyle’s Make Sum Noise Entertainment.
However, Niyola wasn’t able to make a clear headway and when the EME deal came in 2012, she might have sensed it was another time to take another shot at the spotlight.
In 2013, she released Toh Bad whose accompanying video caught the attention of many and finally gave Niyola her first major break as she landed her first major award at the NEA Awards in 2014 as Female Artiste of the Year.
We had a chat with the EME first lady on #YNaijaTwitterInterview (the EME series) yesterday where she revealed plans for the release for her forthcoming album, the impact Banky W and EME as a whole has had on her career, and more.
