2016 has seen the release of quite a number of albums- some we like and some, not so much.

Former YBNL rapper, Lil Kesh, now signed to his own label, YAGI, dropped his debut album (Y.A.G.I) in May. Yemi Alade also released her 15-track sophomore studio album, ‘Mama Africa’.

Following the release of smash hits like ‘Woju’, ’Laye’, ‘Good time’ and ‘Mama’, G-Worldwide Entertainment artiste, Kiss Daniel blessed us with his debut album, ‘New Era’ in June.

However, there are still artistes whose albums are expected to drop before the end of the year.

We take a look at them;

Wizkid

Pop Star, Wizkid is prepping to release his third studio album ‘Sounds from the Other Side’. Wizkid’s album will feature a number of international acts- as he has been pictured with the likes of Diplo, Swizz Beatz, Justine Skye, Tinie Tempah, amongst others. The Star Boy honcho featured on ‘One Dance’ by Drake- which is currently number one on the Billboard Top 100 chart. He recently dropped his new single ‘Shabba’ featuring Chris Brown, Trey Songz and French Montana.

The superstar already has two albums- ‘Superstar’ and ‘Ayo’.

Davido

Although he revealed his highly anticipated album ‘Baddest’ might not be released this year, Davido’s upcoming album is worth mentioning. The album was scheduled to be released September last year, but missed the planned date. Davido’s record deal with Sony Music may require him to put more time and efforts into making the album.

His second album is expected to feature international acts like Akon, Young Thug, Idris Elba and The Future.

Banky W

The E.M.E boss is currently working with prolific producer, Cobhams Asuquo on some projects. Banky W has been working on the album since last year and fans can’t wait to see what it would sound like.

Adekunle Gold

With his singles ‘Pick up’ and ‘Ready’ still buzzing, Adekunle Gold is set to drop his debut album, ‘GOLD’. The ‘Orente’ singer has released the artwork for the album which was shot by photographer, TY Bello. The album will drop this July, according to the singer.

Phyno

‘Playmaker’, the second album of indigenous rapper, Phyno will feature the likes of Music Icon, 2baba, Timi Dakolo, Olamide amongst others as revealed by the rapper. His first album ‘No Guts, No Glory’ dropped in 2014 and fans cannot wait to have another album from the rapper.

Phyno’s ‘Fada Fada’ single featuring Olamide is still getting massive airplays.

Patoranking

After 3 years in the music scene, Reggae artiste, Patoranking will be releasing his debut studio album titled ‘G.O.E’ (God Over Everything) before the year runs out.

Patoranking recently released the visuals to his single ‘No kissing Baby’ featuring Ghanaian Rapper, Sarkodie.

Omawumi

If you enjoyed her previous albums ‘Wonder Woman‘ and ‘Lasso of Truth‘, then gear up for her third album dropping before the end of the year.

Omawumi has been working on the album for quite some time and it promises to be classic; judging from the album’s already released first single, ‘Play na Play’ featuring Grammy Award winner, Angelique Kidjo.

Cynthia Morgan

Northside inc. artiste, Cynthia Morgan will be releasing her album in August this year. In an interview with HFtv Africa in June, the dancehall artiste revealed that the album will contain 25 tracks.

Cynthia Morgan broke into the Nigerian music scene, when she featured in rapper, Jhybo’s single ‘Ejo le fe ro’ in 2009.
