Lawmakers of the Edo State House of Assembly have impeached the Speaker, Victor Edoror and Deputy Speaker, Bright Osayande after accusing them of misconduct.
The Speaker and his deputy were on Tuesday, May 3, removed by 16 members of the House and Elizabeth Ativie was subsequently elected as Speaker.
A motion for impeachment was moved by the Majority Leader, Folly Ogedemgbe (APC-Owan- East) and seconded by Mr Patrick Illuobe (PDP – Esan-North East).
“This is an impeachment notice signed by 16 members that the speaker Victor Edoroh and his deputy, are hereby impeached”, Ogedemgbe said.
