Recent happenings in Nigeria have had people musing on the legend of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, afrobeat musician and political activist of the highest order. His record has not been beaten, at least not by the musicians since. But what with everything going on in Nigeria (that has always gone on in Nigeria, to be frank), particularly politically, Nigerians are looking for a new Messiah. Perhaps that’s why Nigerians jumped on the bandwagon with excitement when 2Baba called for a protest and then disappeared into the shadows when 2Baba withdrew from the protest.
Do we really want another Fela? Is there any human being in Nigeria now who is prepared to make the sacrifices Fela did. Isima Odeh, CEO, Africa Facts Zone has this news flash: You’re wishing in vain.
Do see below:
Enough with the ridiculous demands for a new Fela. Nigeria doesn't deserve another Fela. We never deserved a hero like him in the 1st place.

Those people saying 2Baba, Wizkid, Davido should be the new Fela are high. The same will be at home chilling when their lives are at risk.
