Benjamin Wurwar Gabriel Daniels, popularly known as “Bendancer,” is a 33-year-old award-winning professional Nigerian contemporary dancer, creative director, choreographer, and fitness coach. His passion for music and dance began when he was 10, and he became a notable dancer when he became the first male dancer in the Kuti family tradition to perform, touring globally with Made Kuti and The Movement band.
Ben is also known for his work on the Felabration and Big Brother Finale stages. While working as a dancer, he founded the Bendancer Academy International and has collaborated on dance workshops with organisations such as NANTAP, NICO, and the British Council.
This year, Ben went viral when he announced his intent to attempt the Guinness World Records challenge for an individual dance marathon of over 168 hours at Freedom Park in Lagos, aiming to surpass the previous 127-hour record. Having completed 176 hours, he broke the previous record and is now awaiting certification.
