Tope Alabi threatens legal action over defamatory claims linking her to singer’s death

Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi has threatened legal action against individuals spreading allegedly false claims about her involvement in the death of fellow singer Toluwanisings.
The warning, issued on Friday by her solicitors, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, followed a Facebook post by a user identified as Tayo, who accused Alabi and gospel entertainers Woli Agba, Dele Omo Woli, and Woli Arole of involvement in the death.
Alabi’s lawyers warned that anyone who publishes or shares defamatory content could face legal consequences. They added that anonymous accounts would not automatically protect offenders from liability and that courts could order the identification of those responsible.
Tacha urges BBNaija to take a break and reinvent the show

Reality TV star Tacha Akide has urged Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) organisers to pause the show and develop fresh ideas to attract viewers amid social media’s growing influence.
Speaking on Arise TV, Akide said entertainment now thrives online, making it harder for reality television to hold public attention. She noted that social media has changed significantly since the show first gained popularity.
The former housemate called for more exciting and original concepts, arguing that Nigerians have become harder to impress. She believes the organisers must adapt to changing viewing habits to keep the programme relevant and engaging.
Wike’s son denies $2.1m land deal claims and accuses businessman of lies

Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has denied claims that he received $2.1 million in a proposed Abuja land deal, calling the reports false and defamatory.
Through his lawyer, senior advocate Ogwu Onoja, Jordan accused businessman Safwan Garba of making inconsistent claims in a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He also accused Garba’s lawyer, Ibrahim Waru, of misrepresenting court proceedings.
Onoja said Jordan maintained during September hearings that he had never met Garba or his agents. However, the lawyer did not specify the alleged inconsistencies in Garba’s petition.

Meghan Markle breaks silence on allegations against father

Meghan Markle has spoken out after disturbing allegations emerged against her father, Thomas Markle Sr., explaining the concerns that have kept him from meeting her children, Archie and Lilibet.
According to The Sun, Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., allegedly discovered child sexual abuse material at their father’s home in Cebu, the Philippines, and reported it to police and the FBI. Meghan said a 2018 letter raised troubling allegations, and she was assured they were being investigated.
London’s Metropolitan Police said it was not investigating Thomas Sr. but was conducting internal inquiries into how the letter was handled. Meghan called for justice and the protection of children.
