A first for Nollywood! The Mirror Boy premieres at Empire, Leicester Square

by Sola Fasasi

Once again, Nollywood breaks new grounds! For the first time, on February 24th 2011, a Nollywood movie – The Mirror Boy – will hold its world premiere at the famous Empire, Leicester Square. The Mirror Boy is a film written and directed by Obi Emelonye and produced by The Nollywood Factory in association with OH Films. The movie stars Genevieve Nnaji, Osita Iheme, Fatima Jabbe and Edward Kagutuzi.

“The Mirror Boy is a multi-layered tale of self-discovery in which TJ – a usually good, never-been-in-trouble-before British-born Gambian boy is whisked away from England by his single mother, after he does finally get into trouble, to Gambia where he is expected to be put on the straight and narrow by good old African discipline, and to meet his father he has never known. Soon after TJ arrives in Gambia he encounters a mysterious boy – visible only to him – who then takes him on a spiritual and cultural journey beyond his most adventurous imagination,” said Nnorom Azuonye, publisher and editor of Nollywood Focus Magazine.

“I say with confidence that The Mirror Boy will break new grounds for Nollywood and may be the first Nollywood movie to travel beyond Nollywood’s traditional audiences,” he continued.

Premiere Tickets are available at www.nollywoodfocus.com for just £20.00, and £50.00 (inclusive of the after-party).
