Former works minister, Tony Anenih who was earlier on Tuesday elected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman has described the merger of opposition political parties to foRm the All Progressives Alliance (APC), as “a pack of weak blocks”.

Anenih who was speaking to newsmen after a meeting of members of the Board at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said, “PDP is on the move again and cannot be stopped by any merger of political parties.”

He described the APC as a “pack of weak blocks that cannot construct an enduring edifice.”

He boasted about the pre-eminence of the PDP over all other opposition parties saying, “APC is not a threat to PDP. We never had a strong opposition. Let us see how strong APC will be.”

Anenih told all in attendance that the restructuring of the PDP BOT is a sign of good things to come.

According to reports, those at the meeting include President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, Speaker Aminu Tambuwal.

Other were; Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State and Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau.

Also in attendance were; Prof. Jubril Aminu, Mrs Josephine Anenih, Dr Bode Olajumoke, Don Etiebet, Prof. Jerry Gana, Banabas Gemade, Dr Kema Chikwe and Dr Hassan Adamu.

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo had resigned his position as the BOT chairman last year leaving the position vacant.
