In just over a month, London Spitalfields Market Halls will play host to Africa Fashion Week London, AFWL.
On August 3 and 4, 2012, African and African inspired designers from all corners of the world will showcase their work to a 10,000 strong audience in London’s hip Shoreditch district. With back-to-back catwalk shows and exhibitions showcasing clothes, accessories, homeware and jewelry, AFWL promises to be a fashion extravaganza like no other.
The first set of designers for this year’s closing show has been confirmed and they include our very own Adebayo Jones and Ghanaian/ Nigerian descent, Anita Quansah whose exquisite jewellery was recently showcased at iROCK Tribes of Africa and graced the limbs of Alicia Keys on the cover of Vibe Magazine.
“We are absolutely delighted to attract the support of such established names in the industry as well as emerging designers; Africa Fashion Week not only provides a platform for African and African-inspired designers but also one that brings together established and emerging talents,” said Ronke Ademiluyi, founder and CEO of Africa Fashion Week London, of the partnership.
