Appeal Court says no bail for Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has today, dismissed the appeal of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and his co-accused for bail.

Kanu has been in the custody of the Federal Government since December 2015 when he was arrested by operative of the Department of State Services.

He is currently being tried for charges bordering on treason, terrorism and keeping an unlawful society at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Kanu’s appeal for bail had been dismissed by Justice James Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja- prompting the IPOB leader to proceed to the appellate court.

His hopes have however been dashed again as three man panel of the Court of Appeal led by Justice Abdul Aboki upheld the judgement of Justice Tsoho to deny him bail.

The Court of Appeal in a unanimous decision said the Federal High Court used its discretion judiciously in denying Kanu bail.

  1. It doesn’t matter. Our struggle is moving and we know that Nnamdi Kanu will be released. It doesn’t matter how long he is in jail. lol
