Army Chief, Buratai begins training with troops in Yobe

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, yesterday met with troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, Buni/Yadi, Yobe and launched special training with troops of the Nigerian Army Special Force School.

Commandant of the School, Brig-Gen. Moundhey Gadzama Ali, who drilled the COAS through the special training, later presented him with a certificate at a ceremony where the soldiers promised to deliver Shekau to him dead or alive, Guardian reports.

Buratai had on Tuesday departed Maiduguri for Damaturu after a strategic meeting with other military service chiefs in Maiduguri, where they discussed new tactics of ending insurgency in the North-East.

While in Buni/Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba C council, Buratai interacted with the troops to get firsthand information on their problems, which he promised to correct very soon.

Some of the soldiers expressed delight over the visit and the COAS close interaction with them, saying the visit has given them hope and confidence to end the fight against the insurgents within a very short time.
