Contrary to false information peddled on social media about Marilou Danley, the acclaimed companion of the Las Vegas shooter, authentic details have emerged about the woman whom police claimed is out of the country.

Stephen Paddock’s use of Danley’s identification at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, compelled authorities to track her down.

According to law-enforcement officials, 62-year old Danley was in the Philippines at the time of the shooting, and is “no longer being sought after as a person of interest”.

BBC disclosed that investigators arrived at the decision after interviewing Danley.

An unidentified acquaintance of Danley who was contacted by the Reno Gazette-Journal said, “She had nothing to do with this psycho. This poor lady, she was in the Philippines visiting family.”

Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop also confirmed that, Danley is a citizen of Australia and still has family there.

Danley who described herself as a proud mom and grandma who lives life to the fullest on her Facebook page which has since been deactivated, is also revealed by The Atlanta Journal Constitution to own a LinkedIn profile which pose her as a “gambling and casino professional” in Reno from 2010 to 2013.

Reno Gazette-Journal also reported that, Danley had been married for 25 years before jointly filing for divorce with her husband Geary Danley in 2015.
