Bauchi’s ATM explosion: “He dropped a plastic bag by the ATM and we shouted on him” Survivor

An eye witness, Lamara Ibrahim who survived the explosion that rocked one of the ATM points in a bank in Azare, Bauchi today has revealed how the explosion occurred.

According to him,  the bomber approached people who had queued up outside a First Bank branch at roughly 10:30 am.

“A man came on foot to this ATM where a large crowd was taking turns to withdraw money. The man tried to leave a black plastic bag on a parked motorcycle nearby but was stopped before he could leave. It was while they were talking to him that the bomb exploded. I saw at least 10 people that looked dead,” Ibrahim told PM news.

The total number of casualties at the scene is yet to be confirmed.

A bomb blast at a bus station in Azare killed at least five people on October 23.

The bus station is just 100 metres (330 feet) from the cash machine.
