President-elect of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has instructed all his staff as well as the personnel attached directly to him, to stop all forms of dealings with the media.

Buhari warned them to leave all media affairs to his official media team, who knew how best to deal with their media collegaues.

In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday, April 29, by Directorate of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Buhari reiterated the position of his party, the All Progressives Congress, which had opposed the temporary barring of the African Independent Television (AIT) from covering his media affairs.

Buhari said he was neither consulted nor informed about the AIT barring, and only became aware of the matter after the public brouhaha it generated.

He said: “I would like everyone to henceforth stay within his/her defined area of responsibility. The time of change has come and we must avoid making the same mistakes that the outgoing government made.”

  1. Emm agreed that GMB was not aware of the barring of AIT,have some questions, how come it took him one good week to react to an issue like this? Does it mean that the aids don’t have guide line of operation? So does it mean that GMB don’t have any business reading news papers and other news materials?
