KMRG reported that Troy Ridling confessed and was arrested on Tuesday for stealing a computer from the Oklahoma church, where he had been a member of the congregation.
The church had reported the theft over two weeks earlier, and police suspected an inside job because there were no signs of a break in.
The first big lead in the case came when Covenant Eyes, which provides tracking software to the church, called an employee to let them know that someone had been trying to access porn on the stolen computer. And Ridling had even called Covenant Eyes asking them to remove the filtering software so he could freely access pornographic websites, police said.
After his arrest, Ridling denied stealing the computer before eventually confessing to police.
Ridling was charged with burglary 2nd degree and possession of stolen property. He was released from the Tulsa County Jail on Wednesday after providing a $6,500 bond.
