Caitlyn Jenner is really none of your business

Jenner
Yesterday, the world was introduced to Caitlyn Jenner, the husband formerly known as Bruce. I’m not going to lie, this entire ordeal has truly fascinated me. Right from that Diane Sawyer interview. This wasn’t some publicity stunt as we’d all wanted to believe. The man took female hormones in the ‘80s, he didn’t just wake up in search of attention.

The backlash to Jenner’s change truly shocked me. Sure, it’s a bit “different” but I didn’t expect such vitriol.

“He’s Bruce to me!”

“Abomination!”

Who am I kidding? I expected it. We’re Nigerians. For some reason, we feel the need to have opinions on any and everything, so convinced that these dustbin opinions actually matter. The comment section on Linda’s blog has probably turned to a pit of fire. Perhaps, Bruce should have asked for our permission before he became Caitlyn.

“I don’t agree with it, but I won’t judge”

Jenner’s decision is not for you to “tolerate”. It’s not for you to even understand. The mere fact that Jenner’s decision doesn’t affect you means it’s absolutely none of your business.

Stop worrying about Jenner, go charge your fan, and take care of your kids.
