I used to think that the pioneers of old Nollywood would become obsolete, and this is due to the wild change and evolution that the industry has undergone. But it doesn’t appear that way anymore. For his return, ace producer and Nollywood luminary Chico Ejiro is back with a new movie, Night Bus to Lagos, and the trailer is a departure from Ejiro’s schtick.
In Night Bus to Lagos, Bolanle Ninalowo plays a man who lives a fake, luxurious life to impress women, until the past comes bringing the women who he has hurt and deceived to him. The movie is dipped in comedy, a desperate attempt to stay relevant in the current atmosphere. The movie ensembles a bloated cast in Pete Edochie, Rachel Oniga, Monalisa Chinda, Daniel Lloyd, Ebube Nwagbo, Omawunmi Megbele, Paul Obazele, Odunlade Adekola, Eddie Watson and Lisa Henry Omorodion.
The movie premiered recently at the Genesis Cinemas, and had in attendance Nollywood celebrities and other personalities. “We pulled a good cast for this and they all put in their best. It is something everyone will enjoy. I think moviegoers should just be on the watch out for the thrilling drama.” Ejiro said to Pulse at the premiere.
Night Bus to Lagos hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
When Bernard Dayo isn’t writing about pop culture, he’s watching horror movies and reading comics and trying to pretend his addiction to Netflix isn’t a serious condition.
