Child trafficking is a form of human trafficking which involves the illegal movement of children, typically for the purposes of forced labour or sexual exploitation.

The International Labour office states that this evil directly affects an estimated 1.2 million children at any given time.

Unfortunately, child trafficking is a common feature in Nigeria. According to the United Nations, child trafficking in Nigeria is a “widespread phenomenon”.

The Nigerian government has however tried to curb this evil by the Trafficking in Persons Prohibition and Administration Act into law and the setting up of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Other Related matters (NAPTIP).

On this episode of #30Days30Voices, we met a young citizen who expressed her views about the evils of child trafficking.
