“I really think if you don’t want to be with someone anymore, you might as well tell them without making a mockery of their intelligence.”

We all know that a break up is a pretty awful experience, with torrents of emotions and a lethal dose of awkwardness. It’s bad enough that someone with whom you have spent many memorable moments of your life ,wants to pack it all up. But getting dumped with a classic line is even worse. Oh, that sinking, bottomless pit feeling you have, when you know you are being served a line!

I really think if you don’t want to be with someone anymore, you might as well tell them without making a mockery of their intelligence. The fact is, there are a lot of clueless people around these days, and if these clueless folk think I am clueless, then I’d have to query their intelligence as well (you guessed right, I write from a position of personal vendetta).  I mean, it takes two similar minds to agree doesn’t it? So let’s say you are the terminator (of the relationship) and instead of being direct and truthful, you say something like; “I need to focus on my career “.  Really? Does it mean he/she is affecting your career, or are things just over?

Below are some break up lines (some of them I’ve had the misfortune of suffering personally), and what they mean in my opinion.
1. “It’s not you, It’s me”= “oh dear! It’s totally you ”
2.”I need my space ” = “Please forget you ever met me, you are smothering me”
3.”I’m just not ready for this kind of relationship.” = “I’m just not ready for this kind of relationship WITH YOU”.
4. ” You deserve better than me” = “ A person like me, deserves better than you “.
5. ” You don’t understand me.” = “You don’t understand me because your IQ matches your shoe size.”
6. ” I think we are moving too fast.” = ” You’ve left me 6 messages, flashed 10 times and
plastered my timeline with love quotes, you creepy stalker, you!”
7. “You are going to make someone really happy someday.” = “Nobody will want to be with a sleaze like you.”
8. ” I don’t want to hold you back” = “You, my dear, are a drag.”
9. ” My feelings for you are so intense they scare me.” = “My feelings for you are totally non-existent”
10. “We just don’t have anything in common.” =”One thing I’m most certain we don’t have in common is our view on this relationship. ”

Everyone knows how much breaking up sucks . Rejection is devastating, especially when you’re on the receiving end. This is why initiating it seems to be what throws people into a frenzy. Hence the ridiculous lies they – some nobodies who have served me these dishes – tell in order to slither out of a relationship. In my opinion, being as truthful as possible in some ways helps the person to make amends in time for the next relationship. The way I see it, except you are just being malicious, you would be proud to have helped shape another person.
